Time is one of the clearest indicators of what truly matters to us. We may say that faith, family, or our walk with God is important, but our calendars often tell the fuller story. Where we consistently invest our minutes and hours reveals what we treasure most.
Jesus taught, “For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also” (Matthew 6:21, BSB). Treasure is not limited to money; it includes attention, focus, and time. When we devote regular, intentional time to prayer, Scripture, and worship, we are not earning God’s favor—we are expressing love for Him. We are aligning our hearts with what is eternal rather than temporary.
In a world filled with distractions, it takes purpose to set aside moments for the Lord. Yet those moments are never wasted. Time in God’s presence renews our strength, clarifies our priorities, and shapes our character. It equips us to love our families better, serve faithfully at work, and walk with integrity.
If you want to know what you value, look at how you spend your time. Then gently ask the Holy Spirit to help you reorder your priorities around what lasts forever.
Prayer for today:
Father, teach me to value what You value. Help me devote my time to what honors You and produces lasting fruit in my life.
