Spiritual growth rarely happens in giant leaps. More often, it is built through small, faithful steps of obedience. Scripture reminds us, “Whoever is faithful with very little will also be faithful with much” (Luke 16:10, BSB). What we choose today matters. The quiet prayer, the time in God’s Word, the act of forgiveness, the disciplined choice to trust rather than worry—these daily decisions prepare us for greater challenges and deeper callings tomorrow.
God does not usually strengthen us all at once. He shapes us gradually. When David faced Goliath, he had already faced lions and bears in the pasture. The private victories prepared him for public triumph. In the same way, your unseen faithfulness today is building spiritual muscle for what lies ahead.
Perhaps there are things you feel unprepared for—leadership, reconciliation, bold faith, or endurance in hardship. Start where you are. Open the Bible. Choose obedience. Take one courageous step. As you do what you can today, the Holy Spirit equips you for what seems impossible tomorrow.
Growth is a process, and God is patient. Be faithful in this moment, and trust Him with the future.
Prayer for Today:
Father, help me to be faithful in the small things today. Strengthen me through Your Spirit so I am prepared for all You are calling me to tomorrow. Amen.
