Today Only Happens Once

May 23, 2026 | Thankfulness | Ephesians 5:15–16

Time is one of the most valuable gifts God has given us, yet it is often the easiest to overlook. We can replace lost possessions, rebuild after setbacks, and recover from many mistakes—but time moves forward without pause. Each day is a sacred opportunity to live with purpose, love others, and grow closer to God.

Scripture urges us to be mindful of how we live: “Pay careful attention, then, to how you walk, not as unwise but as wise, redeeming the time, because the days are evil” (Ephesians 5:15–16, BSB). God calls us to use our time intentionally, not driven by distractions or empty pursuits, but guided by His will.

It is easy to delay what matters most—prayer, time in Scripture, meaningful relationships—thinking there will always be another chance. But each day is a gift we are not promised again. When we begin to see time through God’s perspective, our priorities shift. We become more present, more purposeful, and more focused on what truly lasts.

Today is an opportunity to invest in what matters eternally. Do not let it pass unnoticed—embrace it as a gift from God.

Prayer:
Lord, teach me to value each moment You give me. Help me use my time wisely for Your glory and eternal purpose.
