When Your Strength Isn’t Enough

May 7, 2026 | Grace | 2 Corinthians 12:9

It is easy to rely on our own strength, especially when life feels manageable. We make plans, push through challenges, and convince ourselves that we can handle what comes our way. Yet moments of weakness often reveal a deeper truth—we were never meant to depend on ourselves alone.

Scripture reminds us, “My grace is sufficient for you, for My power is perfected in weakness” (2 Corinthians 12:9, BSB). Our limitations are not failures; they are invitations to experience God’s strength. When we come to the end of ourselves, we begin to understand the depth of His grace and mercy.

God does not call us to be self-sufficient. He calls us to be God-dependent. His grace covers our shortcomings, and His mercy meets us in every struggle. In Him, we find safety—not because we are strong, but because He is faithful.

When we release the pressure to have it all together, we can rest in the assurance that God is holding us securely. His strength sustains us, His mercy renews us, and His grace carries us through.

Today, lean into His strength instead of your own. You are safe in His care.

Prayer: Lord, I acknowledge my need for You today. Cover me with Your grace and keep me secure in Your mercy as I trust in Your strength.
