But [Jesus healed the man by the pool of Bethesda] on the Sabbath, so the Jewish leaders objected. They said to the man who was cured, “You can’t work on the Sabbath! The law doesn’t allow you to carry that sleeping mat!”

But he replied, “The man who healed me told me, ‘Pick up your mat and walk.'”

“Who said such a thing as that?” they demanded. The man didn’t know, for Jesus had disappeared into the crowd.

You don’t know who healed you? You’ve been trying to get into the pool all these years and now that you are healed, you don’t even know the name of the person who did it? Didn’t you ask? Was it irrelevant to you? Even more, you want to blame him for your actions on the Sabbath? Come on, that’s not the way other folks acted when Jesus healed them. Yes, Jesus did slip
