Every day brings its share of light and shadow. Challenges arise, disappointments surface, and uncertainty can cloud our perspective. Yet Scripture continually calls us to fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen and eternal.
When we choose to turn our hearts toward the Lord, everything shifts. The psalmist declares, “Those who look to Him are radiant with joy; their faces shall never be ashamed” (Psalm 34:5, BSB). Focusing on God’s character—His goodness, faithfulness, and sovereignty—keeps us grounded in hope. Shadows may still exist, but they no longer define our direction.
The apostle Paul reminds us, “So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal” (2 Corinthians 4:18, BSB). When we dwell on Christ instead of our fears, His light steadies our steps. We begin to see obstacles as opportunities for growth and trials as places where His grace shines brightest.
Today, make a deliberate choice to turn your face toward the Son. Open His Word. Whisper His name in prayer. Thank Him even before circumstances change. As you focus on His light, the shadows lose their hold, and your heart finds lasting peace.
Prayer: Lord, help me fix my eyes on You today. Shine Your light on my path and give me faith to walk forward with confidence and hope.
