“I believe that everyone, regardless of their beliefs, deserves the dignity of being called by their name” reflects a truth deeply rooted in Scripture. Names matter to God. Throughout the Bible, God calls people by name to show value, purpose, and relationship. “I have called you by your name; you are Mine” (Isaiah 43:1, BSB). To be known by name is to be seen, acknowledged, and honored.
In a world quick to label, dismiss, or divide, followers of Christ are called to something higher. Every person we encounter is made in the image of God and worthy of respect, compassion, and dignity. Calling someone by their name is a simple but powerful act of love. Jesus modeled this kind of grace. He saw individuals others overlooked and addressed them personally, restoring dignity and hope.
