There is something in every human heart that longs for assurance. We strive, achieve, serve, and sacrifice—often hoping that at the end of it all we will feel truly seen and deeply loved. Yet Scripture reveals that the greatest joy is not found in earning love, but in resting in it.
The apostle John writes, “See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are!” (1 John 3:1, BSB). This is not a fragile love, dependent on performance or perfection. It is a covenant love, proven at the cross and secured through the resurrection of Jesus Christ.
When we are convinced that we are loved by God, everything changes. Fear loosens its grip. Comparison loses its power. We are freed to serve, forgive, and persevere—not to gain approval, but because we already have it in Christ.
Today, let your heart settle into this unshakable truth: in Jesus, you are fully known and fully loved. That is the foundation of lasting joy and lasting growth.
Prayer:
Father, help me to live today convinced of Your unfailing love. Let that assurance steady my heart and shape my words, choices, and witness. Amen.
